5 Bookstagrammers You Should be Following

5 Bookstagrammers You Should be Following

Can you believe we’ve been in quarantine for a year? Ugh. Thankfully we have Instagram and the wonderful Bookstagram community to fill the hours with awesome bookish content.

Living alone (asides from the #podcat) through this past tumultuous year felt lonely at times. But following these amazing bookstagrammers has helped me through the pandemic. It’s been like having friends with me in my apartment!

While we may not be friends in real life, I know I can count on these people for funny stories, heartfelt content, and some really good book recommendations as well. Everyday, I look forward to watching their stories and feeling connected to some great people.

My Favourite 5 Bookstagrammers to Follow Right Now

1. @natashaiezgoda

Now, when I say that I LIVE for Natasha’s stories – I mean it. She’s beyond silly in the most endearing way. Her content makes me want to create fun reels and share all my silliness on IG Stories as well.

There is always a lot of animal content. From her cats and dogs to some random wildlife outside, you know we’re here for that. Food, books, science experiments, butter conspiracies (yes, you read that correctly) – you won’t be disappointed if you follow her.

2. @nycbookgirl

Following Morgan around New York City only makes me miss it and my friends there even more. I can’t believe it’s officially a year since I was there last. Morgan has a wonderful intern (cat) named Cleo and her reading corner is pure goals. Her feed is a mix of her everyday life working for a publisher and navigating this new world we live in. It’s the life I hope to have in NYC one day.

3. @readandwright

Phoebe is writing a novel, has a book podcast called Read It or List It, reads all the time, and goes to Trader Joe’s. Umm… Can we be friends now? Phoebe is an actor that, due to the pandemic, can’t work in theatres but is focused on teaching acting and writing for her blog

Discussing how much she misses Broadway and the pandemic exhaustion we’ve all come to know are two more reasons I love watching Phoebe’s stories. She has so many great posts and if you want someone who is real, in a time where we need that, Phoebe is who you’ll want to follow. Don’t forget to #ReadAndRise!

4. @the_libra.ian

Always being his most goofy authentic self, Ian’s stories fill me with joy. I mean, the cow painting – do I need to say more? LOL. My reading preferences align perfectly with Ian’s so we’re always reading similar books or I’m finding really great recommendations on his page. He has a monthly book club and rates books based on a meat thermometer. A meat thermometer!

5. @shelfbyshelf

Hunter has the best stories. He’s always at work and thirsting over some author or talking about his granny. It’s too much in the best way. He has an entire highlight dedicated to #DrunkBookTalk and another for #YogaDrama – this is what we all need more of! His book choices run the gambit and he always knows about the new releases that everyone should be reading. I can’t recommend him enough.

Bookstagrammers Lifting Us All Up

Being stuck at home – no, choosing to stay at home to protect others – has been tough. Watching these five Bookstagrammers for the past year and seeing how they are also dealing with quarantine, the pandemic, working from home, and just living and being themselves has helped my mental health more than I can say.

Let us know who your favourite Bookstagrammers are in the comments below and check out our first #BookstagramMadeMeDoIt episode!
