138: Flung Out Of Space by Grace Ellis and Hannah Temple

In Episode 138, Gen and Jette discuss the graphic novel Flung Out of Space by Grace Ellis and Hannah Templer. It reimagines the life of author Patricia Highsmith and the inspiration for her classic lesbian novel The Price of Salt.

Show Notes

We’ve begun a bit of a tradition of reading a graphic novel as our second episode of the year, and we’re loving it. It’s especially fun to talk about the illustrations alongside the writing.

It was fascinating to learn more about Patricia Highsmith—both the good and the bad—and we’d love to learn more.

Did you catch the Paper Houses references? We’re going to have many more coming when we read the follow up book, Pale Shadows, in early February.

Our next episode we’ll be talking about The Twist of a Knife by Anthony Horowitz.

Don’t forget to read along with our current book club pick, Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson. We’ll be talking about that one first thing in March.
