47: Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

In Episode 47 Gen and Jette discuss Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This time we’re joined by Gen’s sister Laurelle to discuss one of our favourite reads of 2019. It follows the rise and fall of fictional band Daisy Jones and Six during the ’70s. Written in the style of an interview with the surviving band members, Daisy Jones is a story of sex, drugs, rock and roll, and so much more.

This was originally a bonus episode we posted to our Patreon. Since we have taken a break from Patreon due to the pandemic, we wanted to share it here.

If you didn’t read this one when it was all over Instagram, now is the perfect time. Daisy Jones and The Six is the perfect summer read.

Show Notes

Check out Laurelle over at Wild Wandering Creations.

Reese’s bookclub always chooses the best books.

Apparently Disney+ dropped Love, Victor due to “family values” concerns… Shout out to Hulu for scooping it up.

Did anyone else think this was a real band and look for the music albums while reading the book?

Keep an eye out for the upcoming TV series based on Daisy Jones and the Six. (Imagine having to write the music for this one? No pressure.)

WE HATE DECKLED EDGES.

Podcat makes an appearance because she’s hungry and trying to be cute.
