In Episode 36 Gen and Jette talk about Disfigured by Amanda Leduc. We loved chatting about this book that tackles fairy tales and disability. Leduc breaks down how disability has been etched into the collective unconscious as a bad thing that a person needs to overcome and how stories need to make space for disabled characters to exist as they are.
Thank you to James at Coach House Books for sending us an advanced reading copy of this book. We love collaborating and look forward to more to come! Disfigured by Amanda Leduc will be out February 11.
