In Episdoe 34 Gen and Jette talk about The Institute by Stephen King, our 2019 November/December book club selection. King’s latest novel follows a group of children with special powers who are prisoners of a mysterious Institute that runs experiments on them. We chat about fate and chance, shady governments, and histories of imprisonment and experimentation in the real world.
Thank you to Simon and Schuster Canada for sending us a copy of The Institute by Stephen King! We had a great time talking about King’s latest book. He’s one of our favourite authors and this one held up!
Show Notes
We couldn’t find Stephen King’s cumulative word count, but the estimate is somewhere in the tens of millions.
Apparently “night knocker” rose in Google trends when this came out because everyone was trying to figure out what it was.
For those keeping count, that’s another mark for the “Jette goes on an Umbrella Academy tangent” column.
